I wanted to write this letter in regards to Greg Downs. His company JD Pacific, did the construction on our home. Over a year ago, my wife and I purchased a lot in the Kulamanu Subdivision. We then started the bidding process.
I was to meet another contractor at the lot. At that time, Greg walked down and introduced himself. He is an instantly likeable guy. Greg explained he was a building contractor, and would like to bid on the project. I was reluctant. Being my future neighbor and knowing the relationship between home owner, and contractor can be a contenious one.
After some thought, I decided to let Greg bid on the project. All plans were submitted for the bidding process. The other company told me about two weeks, to complete the process. Greg also said about two weeks. At the end of two weeks , Greg had all the paperwork finished. The other company, nothing. After several calls and several deadlines the other company finally was ready.
The two bids were fairly close. Greg’s was a little more expensive. I was impressed with his promptness, and business like attitude.
I decided to have JD Pacific build the house. Over the nine months it took to complete the project. Greg and I worked closely together. I was very impressed with Greg’sorganization. From start to finish the job ran smoothly. The paper work, and computerprintouts were clear and concise. When something needed to be changed, or improved.Greg gave us many options. The changes were always reasonable.
My wife and I are now in the new home, and are very happy. Working with Greg was apleasure. I have a builder, a neighbor, and a friend. I would recommend JD Pacific andGreg Downs to anyone. If you are considering building, or remodeling a home . Irecommend you contact Greg. He is a professional. He does what he says he’s going to do.

I had the privilege to work with Greg Downs and JD Pacific Construction on a renovation project in Hana Hawaii from September 2014 through January 2016. This project was the renovation of an eleven duplex guest cottages at Travaasa Hotel Hana. The location of this property presents planning and logical issues that projects in a normal urban area do not have. Additionally the scope work varied from building to building creating extra challenges for the contractor. The team at JD Pacific was able to deal with these additional challenges efficiently and with the utmost professionalism. From the timely ordering of materials to the onsite supervision of staff and subcontractors the project progress smoothly. Our project also had some very tight deadlines and again Greg’s team met all of their milestone marks as well as our final completion dates.

I have worked with JD Pacific for many years and have always found their services to be very reliable and professional. The jobs have ranged from Maui Mall to individual commercial peoperties that we manage. I find their construction and engineering experience to be a great asset.
JD Pacific was very instrumental in a very challenging project involving structiural restoration of a historic building. The two-story structural restoration was immediately next to a busy sidewalk and state road in Wailuku. JD Pacific was able to restore the two-story building’s structure, at the same time save the entire historic exterior and keep all the pedestrians outside safe.
JD Pacific is one of the leaders on Maui in the construction field and I definately would recommend them on any cnostruction project.
